The Clarica
Scholars Program partners Canada's most innovative teachers and
students with two leading universities to advance technology integration
and interactive learning in secondary schools. The
Program provides support to teachers developing technology-enhanced
learning through collaboration with other educational innovators
from across Canada, and empowers students for participation in
leading-edge learning initiatives.
The Clarica
Scholars Program consists of two one-week sessions in the summers
of 2001 and 2002 at both Acadia University and the University
of Waterloo. Each
university will invite ten teams of four -- two teachers and two
students -- from secondary schools across Canada. Teams will be
selected based on the submission of a project idea to improve
learning through the use of computer and information technologies.
All travel and program costs are provided by Clarica including
a $200 honorarium for participating students.
