Our Profile

In Canada Clarica serves nearly 3 million customers, about one in ten Canadians - including the employees of some 10,000 businesses and institutions. More than 7,500 agents, financial planners, group insurance representatives and staff members are in place all across Canada to serve Customers, where they choose and when. Clarica U.S serves another 250,000 customers south of the border.

Clarica is a public company, owned by its shareholders. It was a product of the demutualization of Mutual Life of Canada, in July 1999.

Our History

Clarica is brand new, but its roots go back to 1870. Thus it has the best of both worlds – an honored past and a bright future.

Clarica was Mutual Life of Canada. With its conversion to a shareholder company, the century old name was no longer appropriate. The new name was carefully chosen to portray the strength of the company as it heads into a new age. Clarica captures the power of clear dialogue in making personal financial choices, dialogue between the customer and the people of the company to achieve understanding... clarity ...and the best solutions.

Clarica's investment and insurance solutions are the choice of 250,000 Americans and over 3 million Canadians. In Canada, that's one person in ten, including the employees of 10,000 businesses. These customers are served by more than 7,000 people in 100 offices across Canada and two major sites in the United States. Leading the way are more than 3,000 Clarica agents and representatives. Their time-tested abilities start with the knowledge that dialogue is the key to providing sound financial solutions. Dialogue is based on listening and understanding, knowing that all situations are different and financial choices are complex and often confusing. The goal is to achieve clarity through honest dialogue leading to straightforward advice. It's a formula that works.
