About Me

Growing Up

Childhood Family Photo

I grew up not far from Wolfville, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I was thankful to be born into a somewhat stable family (they waited until I graduated to have a divorce!) in a very good neighborhood. My parents put me into soccer and a variety of music lessons as a child and despite the amount I’m sure they spent, none of it stuck. Overall my childhood was very good even though nothing special, I am happy to have had the one I did.

Coming to Acadia

Photo from Frosh Week

In my graduating class only 3 people were set to come to Acadia, myself being one of them. It was nerve racking for sure however I knew a few others from the surrounding area going and I was lucky enough to end up in their residence. I’ve always had a passion for psychology which is why I chose that to be my major and I also always had a plan to become a teacher. I was unaware of the fact to get into education you need a certain amount of teachables which is why I am now in mostly English and Sociology courses.

Work at Acadia

Throughout junior high and high school I was always very involved in everything, specifically student government. This is why in my second year I was president of Cutten House, hosting events for the residents and heading projects such as house clothing orders. I then put my name forward as a candidate for Vice President of Student Life. The campaign period was very tough for this and I was very excited to win by a measly 15 votes, 526-511. Currently I oversee clubs/societies, house councils and spearhead various initiatives like charity day and cheaton cup.

Future Goals

Just Another Photo from Work

My goal at this time is to get into the education program at Mount Saint Vincent University or Acadia University. At this time I am considering a run for President of Acadia Students’ Union however I am still unsure of that. I am set up to finish my undergrad in 2022, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with my teachables for the education program being English and Social Studies.
