Class Participation
You have a duty to educate those around you. Your attendance in class is required not only so that you can learn, but also so that you can contribute to the general discussion from which everyone in class gains so much.
Use the homework assignments to formulate your thoughts on the topic of the day, and come prepared to contribute to the discussion in an intelligent and informed fashion.
You won't be given a grade for everything you say, but if at the end of the term I have a sense that you regularly came prepared to participate, and did so politely, firmly, confidently, and adventurously then this should be the easiest 10% you earn all term.
