Hypermedia Project

Biography

Due: Monday, February 28

In addition to familiarizing yourself with a poem, you must also at least acquaint yourself with the author of poem.  You are not expected to write a long, detailed account of the poet's life, and from Acadia it would be impossible to compose a biography based on mostly original research.  Therefore, it follows that the biography you compose will require you to carefully record and attribute every source you consult.
Although this is a small assignment in itself, like the other components of the hypermedia project it is connected to the whole in important ways.  In order to do a decent job of your biography you will have to learn to use the MLA's on-line bibliography and to search the Vaughan Memorial Library for material on your poet.  And then you'll have to read that material.
Limit your biography to one to two paragraphs of not more than about 400 words in total.
Consult the Dictionary of National Biography in addition to any other sources you consult.  I will expect to see the DNB listed as a source, and in that citation the volume number in which can be found the biography of your poet.
