For your third assignment I want you to read either of the two articles cited below, and then write an essay on Paradise Lost that is obviously informed by the essay you choose to read. Both of these essays were published in Milton Quarterly, and both within the past ten years. Finding them, beyond what I have told you so far, is part of your work for this assignment.
Miller, Shannon. "Serpentine Eve: Milton and the Seventeenth-Century Debate Over Women."
Myers, Benjamin. "Prevenient Grace and Conversion in Paradise Lost."
By now you know what I'll expect in the way of formatting. Anything submitted with a font smaller than 12-point will lose 20% off the grade. Not 20% before I start grading; 20% after I am finished. So, for example, a 75% will become 55%. Be sure to put your name on the paper. Consult the formatting instructions for papers 1 and 2 to ensure you format your work--especially the titles you use--correctly.
