First Paper Paper
Due: Monday, January 30, at start of class
In no more than a paragraph of properly formed sentences (i.e. not point form) tell me what poem you plan to explicate, and give me a general, a vague, sense of what the poem means. The explication is where you show your reasoning; the reasoning leads you to your understanding of the poem. When you actually do the explicating your general understanding might well change, but sit down between now and Monday and figure out in general terms what you think the poem means.
You are also required to incorporate two sources into this paper, so I think it prudent if I require you to include the bibliographical citation for both articles now. If you find over the next couple of weeks that either or both article(s) is / are unuseful you can find another, but what I don't want to happen is that find there's been nothing written on the poem you choose.
