In this course we will use the course anthology to survey the literature of sixteenthcentury England. Additionally, we will study the plays Gorboduc and Doctor Faustus so that students leave the class understanding how profound was the change in dramatic presentation during the latter half of the sixteenth century in England. Students will be graded as described under “Course Requirements.” There will be a final exam.
