Field of view
A millimeter ruler under the scanning (4X) objective allows us to determine the diameter of the field of view as 4 mm.
If you know the diameter of the field of view for one objective lens (A) you can calculate the diameter of the field of view for any other objective lens (B) using the following equation:
(magnification A) / (magnification B) X diameter A = diameter B
Answers to questions
Diameter of field of view
= 4 mm at 40 X = 4000 micrometers at 40 X
= 1.6 mm at 100 X = 1600 micrometers at 100 X
= 0.4 mm at 400 X = 400 micrometers at 400 X
= 0.16 mm at 1000 X = 160 micrometers at 1000 X
